Cooling off in the summer heat

It's been pretty hot lately, so over the weekend we pulled out the pool and filled it with ridiculously cold hose water. Natalie once again proved that she is impervious to the cold, and jumped right in. As you can see, she had a great time. We're hoping that the pool will help get her used to the water again so that she'll actually play in the water park while she's at daycare. The first couple of times her class has gone out to the little water park at her daycare, she's pretty much just watched the other kids play in the water and go down the slides. She eventually started playing in it last year, so we're optimistic for this summer.

We're behind by about 20 posts, so hopefully we'll get around to posting a few this week. I guess we'll see!

Outdoor artist

After enduring yet another inexplicable delay in blog posts, at least you'll now get to enjoy a few posts in a row.

Natalie now has a set of chalk so she can create art even when she's outdoors. The next time you come over you may see a colorful collage on the front porch. Make sure to take the time to enjoy it if you see one. It's a Natalie original!

Spring is here!

Spring is finally here and we've been outside enjoying it as much as we can. Natalie is a lot more active and adventerous this year. She isn't quite pedaling her tractor and tricycle yet, but she's getting there. She's also a big fan of bubbles and the swingset. We've already spent a lot of time swinging on the playset in the backyard.

Eric enjoys being outside to take walks as well, so having the weather to be able to do that has been great.

Natalie the Artist

For a while Natalie was really enjoying the whole coloring thing. In fact, she was so into it that she got her own little drawing table for creating her masterpieces. She started out loving the crayons and has now moved to the markers at least in part because the caps are fun to take off and put back on over and over. She knows her shapes and can draw circles, but doesn't quite have enough control yet to draw the other shapes. She is getting better though and is starting to color specific parts of the pictures, and she is getting closer to staying inside the lines.

Still no official determination on being either right-handed or left-handed. She tends to switch between them at will and can do about the same things with either hand. Guess we'll see!

Hair and fashion

For those who haven't seen Natalie in a while, you may be interested to know that she finally has hair! In fact, it's actually getting long enough to put into pigtails, which makes her even more adorable if you can believe it. Dad definitely needs to work on his pigtail styling skills though.

Natalie enjoys looking at the pigtails in the mirror, and in fact she loves to accessorize well beyond that. She loves to wear glasses, necklaces, and bracelets, and she also likes to carry the right purse for the occasion. She really gets into it sometimes.

Settling in

Sorry for the delay with posts, but we've been a little busy! Thanks to everyone who has sent a gift to Eric and Natalie during this special time.

Eric has so far been a very calm baby. He pretty much only cries when he's hungry or has gas, and he's sleeping up to 4 hours at a time over night so it's going pretty well. Natalie seems to be adjusting as well as can be expected, and we're all getting used to our family of 4! Everyone's pretty happy and healthy, and you can't ask for much more than that.

Eric Andrew Robinson

Eric Andrew Robinson was born on 4/8/08 at 11:13am! He weighed 7lbs, 6oz, and was 21 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing very well. We will of course be updating our website and this blog with pictures eventually, and until then here's a picture to tide you over:
